Quentin Tarantino has added Old Hollywood relics to his portfolio and is pushing to save Los Angeles’ most revered shuttered cinemas.

The “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” Director made the announcement on DaxShepard’s “Armchair Expert”. He shared his feelings of despair about large theater chains. But he admitted that some of those larger locations that were affected by the coronavirus pandemic should have been closed.

Tarantino said that he bought the Vista on Sunset. The film is all that’s needed. It won’t be a revival house.”

“We’ll showcase new movies that come out in areas where they provide us with a film copy. The Oscar-winner said that it is not going to look like the New Beverly [Cinema]. “The New Beverly has its own vibe. The Vista feels like a jewel. Although we will show older films it will feel as though you could have a four-night marriage.

The Vista Theatre opened its doors in Oct. 9, 1923. They show both film and vaudeville, and can seat 400 patrons.

Tarantino (58) bought the Landmark New Beverly Cinema in 2007. It now shows only 35mm and16mm films. Many of these are from Tarantino’s personal collection.

The theater reopened approximately two weeks ago in the middle of June, and is still a success due to its consistent sell-out streak since then, according The Hollywood Reporter.

Shepard told the “Pulp fiction” director, “I never like any theater being closed, but some exhibitors that are going… they f—ing deserve it to go.” “They’ve taken out all the specialness from movies anyway, some chain.”
