The Big Saturday Show talks about the border crisis. Kamala Harris, Vice President, visits the southern frontier.

Fox News contributor Emily Compagno claimed on “The Big Saturday Show” Vice President Kamala Harris’ border visit was “just for publicity to get the media away from her.”

Compagno stated, “We are seeing a number of migrants and children from migrant countries being kept in deplorable conditions. The administration just flushes the them out through the system and claims they’re being taken care of. But, they’re actually being put into more miserable conditions.”

Compagno said that the state attorney generals, as well as district attorneys, are raising concerns about emergency shelters’ inability to provide adequate standards for migrants held there. He also noted how many children who are being held are “suicide-watch.”

She said, “Yet we’re hearing that everything is fine, everyone’s okay because she went to a visit and seems like she checked a box.” “Unfortunately, this trip was, frankly speaking, just for publicity so she could get rid of the media that kept asking when you’re going to go.”

Critics point out that the Vice President is not visiting the most affected areas by the ongoing immigration crisis. Harris traveled to El Paso Texas on Friday 93 days ago, when President Biden first appointed her to help with the “root reasons” of the current border crisis.

“If Vice President Harris truly wanted to assess the situation at the border, she’d head to McAllen and sites along the Rio Grande Valley,” a senior border official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Fox News. “It will be worth seeing if this trip extends beyond a rubber stamp of ‘I visited the border.'”

Tom Homan, the former acting chief of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, (ICE), said Harris “needs” to be at the center of this crisis.

Homan stated, “Instead of going to that crisis and talking to men and women who deal with it and taking care a thousand unaccompanied children, she chooses El Paso because her government’s policies have caused devastation.”

“Now El Paso is seeing an increase in crossings. Absolutely a surge in drug crossings. However, when you think about the crisis, why not go to its epicenter and speak to the border patrol personnel and find out what’s going. Homan made the observation in a Fox News interview on Friday.

Nick Miroff from the Washington Post pointed out Harris’ visit to El Paso enables her to avoid difficult-hit areas of the Rio Grande Valley. Democratic officials have also been critical of the Biden administration’s responses to the border crisis. The Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) has been particularly hard hit by the crisis.
